Atherosclerosis and diabetes together cause more deaths among Asian Indians

Concurrent diabetes and atherosclerosis was the most common cause of death among US Asian Indians compared to non-Asian Indians, as per a study. The effect of these diseases on mortality was highest among Asian Indian women aged over 60 years compared to non-Asian Indian women. These findings suggest targeted health strategies among Asian Indians to prevent both diseases.
